Do you have extensive knowledge of Autism/ASC, ADHD, Dyslexia, SEMH, and trauma?

Do you want to support young people who cannot access mainstream education?

I am working with a fantastic organisation who are seeking a passionate and proactive Therapeutic Learning Mentor to support vulnerable young people who are unable to access classroom-based education because of complex behaviours, mental health needs, and associated conditions.

As a Therapeutic Learning Mentor, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that young people have a safe environment to reach their full potential. You will be required to implement assessment and integration plans whilst supporting social and emotional development.

What to expect as a Therapeutic Learning Mentor

  • A therapeutic, holistic, and nurturing learning environment
  • Working 1:1 or in cluster groups in the community and/or home
  • You will be surrounded by a team of experienced professionals, such as therapists and inclusion specialists

  • Excellent support structure

Requirements of a Therapeutic Learning Mentor

  • Excellent knowledge of EHCP’s, SEMH, and trauma
  • Experience working with SEMH, ACE’s, Autism/ASC, sensory and communication difficulties
  • De-escalation and restraint may be required
  • Must be flexible and resilient as a Therapeutic Behaviour Mentor
  • Therapeutic Learning Mentor must be able to develop and maintain constructive relationships with pupils and maintain professional conduct
  • Experience using assessments and developing feedback
  • Knowledge of the social model, classroom model and creating a therapeutic environment
  • Must be able to model and maintain professional boundaries
