Are you seeking a Teacher seeking a behaviour-based environment leading a class within a PRU – where you can make a positive impact on the lives of young people?

We are working with an incredible school in London’s South East borough of Lambeth to fill the position of Nurture Teacher, to lead a class teaching within a Pupil Referral Unit. The students at the PRU School have been removed from mainstream education. In this rewarding role, you will help the pupils to achieve not only their academic goals but also their personal development objectives. The successful applicant will be supported by SEN Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Mentors who will aid the teacher however possible within the class, assisting with lessons and supporting the students.

Requirements of a PRU Teacher:

  • SEN qualifications or experience
  • To work and support students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Challenging behaviour
  • To observe, assess and support students referred to the school from mainstream schools and to set strategies and behaviour targets based on reports and observations.
  • To work alongside Management, SENCO’s and other faculty
  • To be prepared to offer advice to parents and work with them to support their child.
