About the Role
Primary Autism Teacher
Location: Sutton, South West London
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance
Contract Type: Full, Time - Long-Term - May half-term/September
We are working with a primary school in need of a specialist teacher, to lead and teach the Autism Base on site. At Parker Smith Inclusion, we are people focussed, matching the right candidate to the right school, a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary ASC Teacher is what our setting needs. The school provides high-quality education and support for children with a range of learning difficulties, and a kay diagnosis of Autism.
About the school:

- Excellent Resources – Well-equipped classrooms, strong therapeutic support, and a curriculum tailored to individual learning needs, ASC friendly strategies are used within the classes – visual symbols, reduced language, less distracting environment, sensory programmes, emotions scale.
- Collaborative Teamwork – Work alongside an experienced and highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including therapists and specialist support staff.
The Primary ASC Teacher Role:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to primary aged pupils with SEND, ensuring an inclusive and personalised approach to learning.
- Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that supports both emotional and academic growth.
- Work closely with families, therapists, and support staff to develop individual learning plans and meet EHCP targets.
- Champion inclusive education, adapting teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Who will thrive in this Primary ASC Teacher role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – with experience or a passion for SEND education.
- Strong Understanding of SEND – Knowledge of autism, communication needs, and social-emotional challenges.

Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH needs, and complex emotional profiles is essential.
A deep understanding of trauma-informed and attachment-aware practice, and the ability to build strong, consistent relationships.
Flexibility, creativity, and a sense of humour – the journey won’t be linear, but it will be rewarding.
A genuine belief in the potential of every young person, regardless of their starting point.
