Learning Support Assistant - Barnet
SEND school: Ethos for Inclusion, wellbeing, therapeutic education
Immediate Start, Full-Time
Permanent contract £17,500 - Term- time salary (FTE £21,500)

We are working in partnership with a secondary SEND school for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Autism/ASC based in London Borough of Barnet. The school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join their friendly and supportive staff team. This position is to start in September.
This is a new and growing school, headed by a wonderfully inspiring Headteacher who supports and leads her dynamic and diverse staff team to enable them to be the best educators for the pupils who attend the school. This is an excellent opportunity for those aspiring SEND Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, and Social Workers.
Highlights:
- Learning Support Assistant
- SEND school for pupils with SEMH and Autism/ASC; some pupils will have undiagnosed mental health needs such as high anxiety and school phobia
- Based in the London Borough of Barnet
- September start
- Part-Time (ideally 3 or 4 days per week) & Full-Time positions available
- 8 pupils in a class

- £17,500pa (term time salary) depending on experience, weekly payment
Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
- Has experience of working with young people with SEMH, Autism/ASC, anxiety, sensory processing difficulties, and social communication needs
- Available to start work in September
- Able to build solid and meaningful working relationships and be a role model
- Passionate for working with SEND
Some of the students have never been diagnosed or will not be diagnosed, but they are suffering with mental health needs such as high anxiety and find it difficult to be in mainstream school settings for different reasons. The school is determined to provide a positive, therapeutic, nurturing, and encouraging learning environment where children can develop their self-esteem and independence.
