About the Role

Maths Teacher – Full-Time Permanent– September Start – Dorking

Salary: £28,000 - £48,000 per annum

As a Maths Teacher, you are already aware of the essential life skills with which you empower your students. Teaching and guiding those with Autism and SEMH has an impact at a far deeper and more personal level for each individual.

Wherever you are teaching Maths currently, you are probably so busy that you don’t give much time to thinking about your own career. You should, because making sure you are doing your best work in a supportive and nurturing environment enables you to have a greater impact as well as learning and growing yourself.

This is a unique Specialist School in east Surrey, specifically designed for the needs of children facing the challenges of Autism and SEMH. On arrival it soon becomes apparent you are entering a world where every aspect of specialist education has been considered.

Resources and environment are often at the top of the list for teacher frustrations when working in a specialist education setting. This school recognises the value of both and has designed the school accordingly:

  • Small class sizes creating excellent staff-to-student ratios
  • New facilities and the very best classroom resources
  • Multi-sports hall, theatre hall, and dedicated therapy rooms
  • Superb support staff and therapists working alongside you
  • Outdoor learning area including heated swimming pool and a forest school model

At the heart of every exceptional specialist school is a passionate, inspiring, and supportive leader. The headteacher at this school is a wonderful example of these attributes. He works closely with his teams of specialist teachers, therapists, and support staff, ensuring they have everything they need to deliver at the highest level.

Teaching within a specialist environment is about so much more than curriculum. You are engaging at an individual level, where you can equip students with the confidence, independence, and resilience they will need in life. You will be given the freedom to adapt your own lessons to support the specific needs of each student.

The school provides the best possible education for those who need it most. However, it also wants to provide the best career options for those who have committed themselves to working with it. Training and development opportunities would be an integral part of your journey as your career evolves at this school. Naturally, teachers transitioning from a mainstream background will be supported with SEND training from day one.

If this opportunity fits with your current circumstances and ambition, please contact us to discuss how we can guide and advise you going forward. Whether it is this specific role or other SEND teaching opportunities, we can help you find the right next step for your career.

Please contact Heeji Moon if you want to hear more about this or our other SEND teaching opportunities. You can respond to this advert, upload your CV to our website, or call us on 0203 011 4848.

Now is the time to at least be looking at the opportunities your career so far can offer you. September discussions are happening and we can facilitate conversations with multiple schools.

We are very different in our approach as you will see from the voices reviewing and recommending us. If you would like your journey so far to be recognised and respected, Parker Smith Inclusion is the right partner for you and your future.
