Are you currently working in a school Speech and Language Therapy team and looking for a change or progression?

Are you a Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration but requiring sponsorship to work in the UK?

Parker Smith Inclusion is currently partnered with many London-based special schools looking to expand their Therapy offer. The schools’ Speech and Language Teams we are working with are across London and have opportunities covering part-time, full-time, locum, or permanent. The opportunities are flexible enough to work with you, and working in schools offers a great work-life balance.

The roles will vary depending on the type of setting and we work with Multidisciplinary/ Speech and Language Therapy teams in a variety of settings: Mainstream schools with ARP (Additionally Resourced Provisions) SEND schools for ASD, MLD, SLD, PMLD, SLCN, SEMH and trauma informed schools.

During school closures some of our schools lost locum staff in their Speech and Language Therapy teams, so a number of our schools are looking to offer permanent contracts to SaLTs looking for security in school based work.

 

Opportunities include:

  • Newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist (Band 5 equivalent)
  • Experienced Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6 equivalent)
  • Lead Speech and Language Therapist (Band 7/8 equivalent)
  • Sponsorship available for HCPC registered therapists (or in process)

 

Responsible for: Delivery of Speech and Language Therapy within school settings, either one site or multisite or as Advisory Service for Local Authorities.

 

Speech and Language Therapy hours and contract types:

  • Full time – term time only
  • Part-time – term time only
  • Full time – 52 weeks
  • Part-time – 52 weeks
  • Permanent contracts, FTC, temporary and locum

The Speech and Language therapy teams form part of a multidisciplinary team to drive forward development and rehabilitation programmes.

As a speech and language therapist, you will provide direct clinical care, which will encompass speech and language therapy assessments, treatment, and management of needs that extend beyond school. You will assess, implement and develop treatment programmes according to diagnosis and identified needs.

 

Candidate should be/have:

  • A registered Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) or registration process.
  • Paediatric experience.
  • A passion to work in Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy.
  • An understanding of Speech and Language Therapy process/interventions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • Resilience and an ability to manage difficult situations.
