POSITION: SENCO

LOCATION: East London

START DATE: September

SALARY: Inner London Pay Scale MPS + TLR 2  

 

Are you a Qualified Teacher looking to start your journey of becoming a SENCo?

Do you have QTS, and looking for a school that will help you through your NASENCo?

Have you been teaching in the UK for at least 2 years?

 

*NASENCO not essential, however, you must be willing to work towards achieving this qualification*

I am seeking a fantastic Teacher, aspiring to be a SENCo! This is an amazing Mainstream Secondary School in Barking. The school have expanded over the years, and now feel it necessary to hire a new SENCo, however, they have given the opportunity for someone to train as a SENCo, and gain their NASENCo qualification!  

 

The school

This is a fantastic mainstream secondary school that also has a sixth form and primary site attached. They are based in particularly deprived area of East London, so as such, the needs of the children are high.

The school are looking for someone who can take a strategic lead within the school with a real focus on inclusion.

 

The role as a SENCO

As a SENCO, you will work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement EHCP’s for students with SEND, ensuring that they receive the appropriate level of support and intervention to succeed academically and socially. You will also monitor the progress of students with SEND and provide regular feedback to parents and teaching staff on their progress.

 

The ideal candidate

The successful SENCO will have a passion for working with children and young people with various needs, and would have held their QTS for atleast 2 years, teaching in the UK. The SENCO will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
