Behaviour Mentor- SEMH School - Ealing

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with additional learning needs and mental health disorders?

Are you keen to make a difference to the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH?

I am working with an Ealing based SEMH school who are looking for an engaging and passionate Behaviour Mentor to start in September. The children attending this school will a SEN diagnosis, EHCP (Education Health Care Plan), for SEMH, ASD, SLCN, ADHD and Severe Social Anxieties. They take a nurturing approach to their education support and use restorative practices to resolve conflict. 

 

Behaviour Mentor requirements

  • Essential - Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
  • Beneficial - Experience of working with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties, or experience with SEMH, trauma, sensory processing, social communication
  • Beneficial - Youth Mentor/Worker experience
  • Essential - Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
  • Essential - Ability and experience delivering literacy and English sessions

What you can expect as a Behaviour Mentor

  • Behaviour roles will vary from day to day, you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations
  • For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path
  • Continued Professional Development - SEND schools and APs are continually training their staff to help them support their children's needs, you will become an expert in your field
  • You will have an opportunity to make a huge social impact, as a Behaviour Mentor you could change the path of someone’s life!
