I am working with a North West London SEMH School who are looking for engaging and passionate Mentors to join them immediately. The children attending this school will have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) for SEMH and sometimes Autism. I am looking to speak to professional and committed Mentors, even if your experience is informal/voluntary, we want to hear from you!

 

Mentor requirements

  • Essential - Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
  • Essential - Resilience, patience, calm manner
  • Essential - Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
  • Essential - enthusiastic, dedicated, reliable
  • Beneficial - Youth Mentor/Worker experience
  • Beneficial - Experience of working with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties, or experience with SEMH, trauma, sensory processing, social communication

What you can expect in this role

  • You will become part of the school's support team, your role is essential to the development of the children in your care.
  • This is a dedicated school team led by an experienced and approachable headteacher who values his staff's wellbeing.
  • The school is a positive place for children who have attachment disorders, and psychiatric conditions which make emotional attachments to others very difficult.
  • Children with attachment disorders are likely to struggle academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviourally, Therefore, patience, consistency, and resilience are essential for this work.
  • This role requires a patient and resilient Behaviour Mentor to work with very challenging and sometimes physically challenging behaviour.
  • For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path!

Pay

  • We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees. 
  • This is a day rate based on 9 - 3 working hours £76 per day/£14 per hour
