Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with complex needs? We are looking for a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at a special school with multiple sites across Newham.

Our school provides a supportive, nurturing, and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (verbal and non-verbal), physical disabilities, behavioural challenges, and other complex learning difficulties. Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with complex needs, including autism and physical disabilities.
- Assist students with both verbal and non-verbal communication needs.
- Support students with personal care as required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Help manage behavioural challenges in a calm and proactive manner, in line with the school's policies.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure each child receives the appropriate care and education.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and behavioural challenges.
- A strong understanding of supporting students with both verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Willingness to carry out personal care duties, ensuring a dignified approach.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with other professionals, staff, and parents.
- Commitment to working 5 days per week.
