Head of Centre – Small SEMH School

About the Head of Centre role

You will work closely with senior members of the organisation and play a key role in the SLT. As the Head of Centre, you will be responsible for leading the school. The main responsibility of the post is the education of the pupils, management of school staff and finances.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to lead a small school with the focus being on pupils and their education.


About the School

The school offers alternative provision for young people who cannot access mainstream education due to their needs. The school is a nurturing setting offering a specialist programme for up to sixteen pupils.

Requirements for Head of Centre

  • Teaching qualification
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Up to date knowledge of school curriculum requirements
  • Understanding of HR
  • Experience in alternative provision setting
  • Experience working with young people with complex additional needs
