Headteacher – East London PRU

Up to £89,000 including Outer London Weighting

  • An ‘Outstanding’ specialist provision for students between 11-16 who have been excluded, or at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream education
  • Tailored, therapeutic and nurturing approach to education
  • On site therapy dog to support with sensory and emotional regulation
  • Team of experienced professionals who believe in the same core values and strive to create an inclusive and accessible education for all students

 

The ideal Headteacher

  • Headteacher experience, and obtained/working towards NPQH
  • Experience in SEND settings, preferably SEMH/PRU
  • Excellent organisational and behaviour management skills
  • Can positively enforce the nurturing approach to education across the school and staff teams
  • Effective management of staff and wellbeing, whilst being a positive role model
  • Committed to representing the core values of the school
  • The Headteacher must be able to inspire pupils and colleagues
  • Working knowledge of SEN Code of Practice

 

Responsibilities of Headteacher (not limited to)

  • Working in partnership with SLT, external agencies and parents to generate ethos and values
  • Monitoring and evaluating the overall performance of the school, implementing continuous school improvement plans
  • Management of finances and administration
  • Maintaining and promoting an inclusive environment that initiates excellent foundations for teaching and learning, and high standards of achievement
  • Following regulations and legislation
  • Continuously develop an environment whereby staff feel valued and accountable for successes
