The School
- An ‘Outstanding’ specialist provision for students between 11-16 who have been excluded, or at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream education
- Tailored, therapeutic and nurturing approach to education
- On site therapy dog to support with sensory and emotional regulation
- Team of experienced professionals who believe in the same core values and strive to create an inclusive and accessible education for all students
The ideal Headteacher
- Headteacher experience, and obtained/working towards NPQH
- Experience in SEND settings, preferably SEMH/PRU
- Excellent organisational and behaviour management skills
- Can positively enforce the nurturing approach to education across the school and staff teams
- Effective management of staff and wellbeing, whilst being a positive role model
- Committed to representing the core values of the school
- The Headteacher must be able to inspire pupils and colleagues
- Working knowledge of SEN Code of Practice
Responsibilities of Headteacher (not limited to)
- Working in partnership with SLT, external agencies and parents to generate ethos and values
- Monitoring and evaluating the overall performance of the school, implementing continuous school improvement plans
- Management of finances and administration
- Maintaining and promoting an inclusive environment that initiates excellent foundations for teaching and learning, and high standards of achievement
- Following regulations and legislation
- Continuously develop an environment whereby staff feel valued and accountable for successes
