Are you an experienced SEND Learning support assistant or HLTA, looking for a new challenge with a supportive and friendly team?

 

Do you have experience working as part of a school inclusion team and have a sound knowledge of SEND? 

 

Are you keen to transfer your current TA experience and knowledge in a role in which you can progress your education career?

 

Are you an experienced SEND support worker or TA considering a career in teaching?

 

I am actively looking for passionate Education Support professionals who are keen to find an opportunity to develop their career. Interviews with the Head and Inclusion team are next week, so please do not delay in applying! This is an essential role within the inclusion team and will form an integral part of the the school's SEND offer.

 

What do you need to be a HLTA?

The school are looking for someone with at least 2 years' experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant. You will need to share in the school's child focused vision and hold inclusive practice as the utmost priority. Proven experience in SEND is essential as you will work to assist the school's dedicated SENCO in delivering inclusive education across the whole school. I am looking for someone with a passion for providing consistently inclusive education practices and is focused on continuing their development in education. They are a growing school and therefore the successful applicant will have a long career opportunity here with much room for progression and CPD. 

Ultimately, the successful candidate should be enthusiastic, a strong team player and share in the school's vision for genuinely inclusive education.

HLTA ​Responsibilities include:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individuals and small groups
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being
  • Cover classes as and when required
  • Develop and implement Individual Development Plans for pupils
  • You will also specialise and take responsibility for an area that suits your skillset/experience, for example; EAL, support in a particular subject area, support to gifted and talented, or SEND support including behaviour interventions
  • support the SENCO in managing the implementation of an inclusive curriculum, contribute to annual reviews
  • Liaising with TAs, teachers, parents, and outside agencies to deliver SEND support
