We are recruiting a highly motivated and resilient SEND Teacher to join our well-established SEND school in Croydon. At this school, you will be part of a very creative and safe learning environment where the school prioritises the well-being of their staff. You will work alongside a dedicated team of professionals committed to providing exceptional care and education to students. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students' individual needs, including academic, social, emotional, and physical development.

The school caters to children with various needs, such as Autism and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs) 

The SEND teacher will lead a class of 8-12 students, with most pupils receiving 1:1 support, meaning there is a lot of support staff in the class, enabling every child to have access to specialist support. 

Located in the London Borough of Croydon, the school has free on-site parking and excellent public transport links.

Responsibilities:

• Leading a class of 8-12 students with SEND

• Creating and delivering an exciting and differentiated curriculum that caters to the needs of each student

• Collaborating with other teachers and professionals to ensure each student receives the best possible education and support

• Ensuring a safe, happy, and inclusive learning environment

• Implementing positive behaviour management strategies

• Keeping up to date with relevant training and CPD

Essential Criteria:

• Relevant teaching qualification

• Experience teaching children with SEND

• Resilient and capable of managing challenging behaviour

• Passionate about working with SEND students

• Work well in a team

• Aspirations to grow with the school as they expand

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in SEMH/ Autism 

• Experience in leading a class

• Experience in behaviour management strategies

• Familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorders
