Role: Lead Speech and Language Therapist

Contract details: Band 7 or 8, Flexible options: permanent full time or part time
Salary: £43,742 - £57,349, depending on experience
Job Summary:
We are currently looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a school trust, supporting a broad range of needs. This is a unique role with plenty of progression opportunities. The trust requires an experienced SaLT as you will be building a therapy team as you grow within the role! The ideal candidate will need to be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist with a current HCPC registration and paediatric experience.
About the School Trust
Working for this trust comes with great opportunity for CPD and access to very specific training from well known experts in SEND. You will have the opportunity to build and develop the trust's therapy service and grow the team across all of their sites across East London and some Essex primary schools. Eventually this role will also include SaLT support across their mainstream schools. Working with a range of sites means that you will acquire skills and experience across a wide range of SEND including but not limited to PD, LD, SLCN, MLD, PMLD, Autism, and Access Needs. Lead SaLT Responsibilities:
- Provide a high quality, school-based S&L Service to children, their families, care givers and school staff
- Assessment, strategies, training, modelling, programs and equipment/adaptation recommendations
- Consult school staff such as Senior Leaders, SENCOs, and class teachers to support the integration of SaLT principles into the curriculum
- Identify training needs amongst school staff and parents
- Interviewing and appointing a multidisciplinary therapy team including Therapy Assistants
- Contribute to Annual Reviews as and when required
- Measuring and evaluating outcomes
- Contribute to the creation of service development outcomes
- Creating resources
- Providing strategies through coaching
Requirements:
- Qualified Speech and Language Therapist
- Relevant professional qualification
- HCPC registration
- Solid paediatric SaLT experience, ideally working with a broad range of SEND to include Autism
- Ability to work autonomously
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Experience in working with Children with Complex Needs
