About the Therapeutic School

The school caters for primary and secondary aged students with adverse childhood experiences including trauma and support children who have a range of social, emotional, mental health and learning needs.

The specialist school has an excellent OFSTED report as well as having an outstanding reputation.

The school offers a wide range of therapies including Music, Drama, Play, Integrative, Family, Canine, SALT, Occupational, Educational Psychology and CAHMS.

What you can expect as a Lead Therapist

As well as offering your specialist therapy sessions you will have a leading role in therapeutic presence across the school as well as leading whole-staff training. As a Lead Therapist you will have previously worked with children and young people who present challenging behaviour and who have complex social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will work therapeutically both one to one and in small groups. You will also offer structured weekly sessions as well as sessions in the moment when therapy is required.

Lead Therapist Requirements

  • Fully qualified in own specialism and registered with appropriate body (i.e BACP)
  • A range of experience in your own specialism but also an understand of wider therapies
  • Experienced in settings working with children with SEND and complex needs
  • Understanding of mental health in children including (ACE), attachment behaviour, trauma and the impact of abuse
  • Strong leadership skills
