Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with social-emotional and mental health disorders?

Do you have experience working as a Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Mentor with young people who are not able to attend mainstream school and have a background of behavioural challenges? Are you keen to make a difference in the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH?

I am actively seeking a passionate Learning Support Mentor for a PRU based in East London.

Even if your experience is informal/voluntary, I want to hear from you! The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex behaviour challenges and sometimes associated SEND.

Pupil Referral Unit

We are looking for a Learning Support Mentor to work with students with a PRU based in Islington, this will be a class-based role supporting the behaviour of the learners.

This role is based within a SEMH specialist setting for students who for many reasons are unable to access mainstream education. 

Learning Support Mentor requirements:

  • Experience of working with young people with SEND and/or Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
  • Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Mentor   Youth Worker experience
  •  Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
  • A passion for working with SEND is essential
