I am working with a Pioneering Pupil referral unit who are looking for an experienced Literacy coach who is ready for their next challenge and ready to help their students grow, develop and support each childs’ success as they progress onto future education provision and adult life
What is the Literacy Coach role?
- As the Literacy Coach, you will be required to assist in the planning, delivery and coordination of the Literacy programme.
- As the Literacy Coach you should be ensuring high-quality Literacy and reading activities which are progressive and reflective of the need of the students within the Pupil referral unit.
- As the Literacy coach you will be required to develop the resources of the curriculum to ensure you are providing increased opportunities that motivate and develop the student’s interests in aspects of Literacy and Reading.
- The Literacy coach role would include working with whole classes, smaller groups and individuals
- As the Literacy Coach you will be required to contribute to SEND planning and review meetings.
Are you the ideal literacy coach?
- The ideal literacy coach would have 2 years of experience working within a PRU or similar setting
- The ideal literacy coach would have obtained or would be prepared to obtain an appropriate teaching/training qualification
- The ideal literacy coach would have experience in teaching and delivering enrichment programmes for Key Stage 4 students
- As the literacy coach you will require flexibility and resilience to be able to manage the demanding environment of working in a SEBD setting
- As the Literacy Coach you would ideally have experience in helping students with Literacy and Reading, including experience working with individuals, small groups and whole classes.
