We are working in partnership with a prestigious SEMH school in the East London area, The school is looking for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team. This position is full-time (term-time only) and is to start as soon as possible.

Highlights:

  • Mental Health Teaching Assistant
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 (hours could be shorter depending on the school)
  • Supporting children with social emitonal and mental health
  • Promoting pupils’ wellbeing
  • ASAP start
  • £75 - £90 PAYE, weekly payment

Ideal SEMH Mental Health Teaching Assistant:

  • Graduates who studied either Psychology, Criminology, Education Studies or Creative Arts are welcome to apply!
  • Has experience working with children and young people with special needs
  • Has personal interests in supporting children and young people with special needs
  • A positive, proactive, and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn
  • A team player and has excellent communication skills
  • Being able to build up good working relationships with students and staff

SEMH Mental Health Teaching Assistant’s Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children and young people with Social Emotional Mental Health
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities as well as monitoring and assessing children’s achievement and progress
  • Actively involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social, and emotional wellbeing of the pupils
