Movement Therapy Assistant – September 2024  

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with additional learning needs and mental health disorders?

Are you keen to make a difference to the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH?

Are you pursuing a career as a therapist in one of the following disciplines; Occupational, Speech and Language, Play, Art, Dance, Drama, Music?

We are supporting the development of a SEND school’s therapeutic offer and have exciting opportunities for Therapeutic Assistants looking for practical experience to build on their career in therapy. This is an established and well facilitated SEND school located in East London, easily accessed via a number of public transport links. Alternatively, parking is available for drivers. We are actively seeking engaging and passionate Therapeutic Assistants to add to their friendly and talented SEND staff team. The school provides education to children with a range of needs including, MLD, SLD, PMLD, PD, neurological conditions and brain injuries. We are looking to speak to professional and committed support staff who are passionate about therapeutic intervention, even if your experience is informal/voluntary, we want to hear from you!

Movement Therapy Assistant requirements

  • Essential - Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
  • Essential - Experience of working with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties, or experience with SEMH, trauma, sensory processing, social communication
  • Essential - Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
  • Beneficial – Experience in neurological rehabilitation
  • Beneficial – Experience in therapy support/interventions

Pay for Movement Therapy Assistant Opportunity

  • There are permanent opportunities available with salaries of £19,000 - £24,000 negotiable based on experience and the job role.
  • Long-term contracts are available for those who are looking for immediate work. We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees
  • Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only and rates will vary from £85-£120 per day, depending on the role and your experience. Full Time Equivalent salaries are therefore £19,500 - £29,120 Per Annum, please bear in mind that all school based work will be term time only
