Nurture Group Teaching Assistant | Newham | September or sooner

I am working with an 'Good' primary community school in Newham who are seeking a bubbly, engaging and energetic Nurture Group Teaching Assistant   to join their team on a Long term/Permanent for September or sooner for the right candidate.  The school are very keen on individuals who want to make a difference to SEN children’s lives whilst also bringing along their own initiative and energy to the classroom!

This role will be working in the schools BRAND NEW specialist SEN provision where you will be working with SEN students who for varied reasons are finding it difficult to access the mainstream classrooms. The role will be working alongside a SEND teacher and experienced SENCO who are passionate about ensuring that their students can achieve their full potential.

What to expect working as a Nurture Group Teaching Assistant 

  • As a Nurture Group Teaching Assistant  you will be supporting a brand new specialist provision/class catered to students with SEND
  • This role would be a great fit for a psychology, education or social science graduate or someone who is enthusiastic about SEND and would like to pursue a career working with children
  • A long term contract, working for the whole academic year with the prospects of becoming a permanent member of staff
  • Continuous CPD training for all SEN Teaching Assistants, including:  Phonics, Makaton, PECs, Colourful Semantics etc
  • The ability to work in a highly supported staff team within a fantastic mainstream school
  • Gain the opportunity to make a huge difference to the social and emotional development of an SEN child as a Graduate Teaching Assistant

Requirements for a Nurture Group Teaching Assistant 

  • A graduate who is passionate about a career in education
  • Previous experience working as with children within a school or childcare setting however this is not essential
  • Proactive and positive about making a difference to children’s development and wellbeing
  • Excel at building relationships with both students and staff
  • Live within commutable distance of Newham

Pay

  • Long-term contracts are available for those who are looking for immediate work. We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees
  • Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only, please bear in mind that all school based work will be term time only
