Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a new challenge or career progression within a school setting?
Do you have a strong background and passion for paediatric support?
As a specialist SEND organisation, we are ALWAYS actively looking to connect with Occupational Therapists who are looking to work in the field of paediatrics or education. We want to speak to professionals with a genuine passion for working with vulnerable children with highly complex needs.
About the role of Occupational Therapist
The purpose of an Occupational Therapist is to help children succeed. As an Occupational Therapist based in highly complex settings, you will look at the whole child, tackling individual tasks, and helping students find ways to do the things they need and want to do. You will liaise closely with the multi-disciplinary clinical team to provide an intensive treatment service. You will engage the children and young people within the school in innovative, helpful therapeutic and meaningful activity, supporting them in learning and reaching their full potential.
Requirements for Occupational Therapist
- To work as an Occupational Therapist, you will need to hold a recognised Occupational Therapy degree, be HCPC registered and a registered member of the British College of Occupational Therapists. You will need solid experience, ideally working with highly vulnerable children, or children with complex needs
- We get most opportunities for band 6/7 Occupational Therapists but we want to hear from overseas-trained and newly qualified OTs too!
- Pay and hours – school salaries are competitive but sometimes term time only, please bear that in mind. School hours are typically 8.30 to 3.30/4pm, so for our OTs looking to balance family life, this is a huge benefit. This also benefits our OTs who work privately or like to have free time to work on other projects!
About the schools
We work with a range of schools that cater for children with a vast range of needs, please speak to us to find out where your experience would fit best. Some of our schools will be for children who are at risk, highly vulnerable with complex mental health conditions and sometimes comorbid needs. Some will be Autism specialist schools and others will support PMLD and complex disabilities and learning needs. We want to find the right place for you!
