About the SEN School

The school is a SEND secondary school catering for students with additional needs including ASD and SEMH

The class size will be no larger than 10 pupils and will be supported by Teachers, HLTAs and Therapists. 

What you can expect as a Occupational Therapy Assistant 

As a Occupational Therapy Assistant in this specialist SEND school you will work as part of the specialist therapy multidisciplinary team. As a Occupational Therapy Assistant you will support speech and language therapy and occupational therapy within the classroom setting. You will work with pupils both individually and in groups to support their development of communication skills.

As a Occupational Therapy Assistant you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining therapeutic materials. You will also support the Speech and Language or Occupational Therapist with administration tasks and assist them to develop the therapy programmes.

Occupational Therapy Assistant Requirements

  • Experience working in a school setting
  • It is desirable that you have knowledge, understanding and experience of OT support work.
  • Good communication skills 
  • Excellent organisation
