Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience

Are you passionate about teaching students with social emotional and mental health disorders? Do you want to teach in a therapeutic setting?

Are you a Teacher with experience in SEMH settings? Or are you currently teaching in mainstream and seeking a transition into a SEND setting.

SEMH specialist school

We are looking for a SEMH Teacher for a specialist SEMH school based in Redbridge. The school caters for students who are unable to access mainstream education and has a therapeutic approach to teaching and learning with an onsite team of Therapy staff. The class sizes are very small and focus on the individual needs of students.

The Ideal SEMH Teacher

  • Therapeutic teaching approach – SEN Teacher
  • Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
  • Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
  • Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
  • Experience of working with disengaged teenagers is essential.
