About the School

Here at Parker Smith Inclusion, we are working with a lovely one-form entry primary school in Hackney, who are looking for a Primary Teaching Assistant. The school have a strong and experienced senior leadership team who will be working closely with the successful candidate ensuring the correct support is given, the school are very passionate about the development of all teaching staff with a continuous development programme in place.

The Primary Teaching Assistant Role

As the Primary Teaching Assistant, you will support the students in year 2 with their reading, writing and maths development. As the Primary Teaching Assistant, you will be doing SALT and reading interventions, it is essential that you are able to build a strong rapport with both students and staff as you will be working closely with the senior leadership team and a SALT therapist.

Primary Teaching Assistant requirements

  • Passionate about supporting students with SEND
  • Experience using phonics is essential
  • Ideally, the Primary Teaching Assistant would have experience using Makaton and PECs
  • Committed to personal development and learning specialist skills
  • The successful Primary Teaching Assistant should be proactive and flexible
  • The Primary Teaching Assistant should be a team player and build rapport quickly with both staff and students
  • Ideally a Graduate or someone with previous SEN experience either formal or informal
