Are you experienced in supporting students in Alternative Provisions?

Are you keen to lead sessions for a group of 8-10 students?

Have you got excellent behaviour management techniques?

The role

I am working with a fantastic PRU based in Thurrock, Essex. This is a brilliant PRU for children aged 11-16, who have all been excluded from mainstream education. The children at this school require supportive, resilient members of staff to support their education and help them to open doors to a bright future! The school pride themselves on having a ‘family feel’ and strive to ensure all students develop academically, socially and morally.

I am looking for a teacher, or an experienced member of support staff, who can lead sessions for a group of 8-10 year 11 students. All lessons would already be planned and prepared, and would cover topics such as Numeracy, Literacy and some vocational subjects such as Cooking.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate for this position would be someone who has experience with students who present with challenging behaviour and have a history of using deescalation techniques. You should be resilient, calm and have a positive attitude to inspire learners.

You do not need to have QTS for this position, however, this may be beneficial.

If you are an unqualified teacher, or have experience leading sessions for young people, then I want to hear from you!
