SEMH and SEND specialist school, Harlow
We are looking for a Science Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and excited about the opportunity to provide essential education to their students with significant barriers to learning. This SEMH school is based in Harlow, Essex. The school caters for students who are unable to access mainstream education due to their complex SEMH and other comorbid needs. Understanding their SEMH needs must be met before any academic development can happen.
What we are looking for
- Therapeutic teaching approach
- Science Teacher with QTS/QTLS, Able to teach KS2, 3 and 4 Science including GCSE Science
- Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
- Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
- Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background
- Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
- Experience of working with disengaged teenagers is essential.
- The passion to teach and inspire young people during a crucial stage of their personal and academic development.
- Commutable distance from Newham
