We are working with an SEMH Secondary school based in Camden that is looking for an experienced teacher that specialises in English to teach and support students with social, emotional and mental health needs.  They are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students with SEMH needs. Their dedicated team of educators and support staff work collaboratively to empower students, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential.  They believe in fostering a love for learning and building positive relationships that extend beyond the classroom.

 

Role Overview

As a English Teacher working within an SEMH school you will place a crucial role in delivering engaging and accessible science education to students with SEMH needs. You will create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for science. Your innovative teaching methods will cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring that every student can succeed and thrive academically and emotionally.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver English lessons in accordance with the curriculum
  • Differentiate instructions to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular approaches to support holistic learning
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents

 

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Relevant experience teaching English
  • Both primary and secondary qualified teachers
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
