SEN Teaching Assistant

I am working with a vibrant and creative SEND school who are seeking a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant, the position is to work alongside pupils aged 3 - 19, each with individual needs that require specialist support, whether that be Emotional, Behavioural or Academic.
Knowledge and an understanding of Special Educational Needs is essential for this position. You will need to have a solid understanding of various SEND needs and how this would impact on a pupils learning.
This includes understanding the specific needs, strengths, challenges, and appropriate support strategies for students with needs such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Passion for working with children in early years / EYFS who require additional support in order to access education and social development
- May have experience working in a nursery or early years class
- Ideally previous experience (formal or informal) supporting children with Autism or other special educational needs
- Has excellent communication skills and be a team player
- A proactive and positive individual who is always striving to meet children's learning needs.
- Ability to build rapport with children
- Has creative approach
