Are you passionate about working with children with special educational needs?

Do you want to work in a school with a strong sense of community?

Do you want the chance to work one to one with a child with ASD?

The role

I am looking for a SEN experienced individual to work on a one-to-one basis as a teaching assistant for a child with ASD starting in reception in September 2022. The school I am working with is based in Havering and has an excellent reputation for maintaining happy staff and a strong sense of community. The child has ASD and uses minimal verbal language, therefore, the successful teaching assistant should be able to adapt their communication methods and be able to use effective body language and facial expressions to help express themselves. The child does not have a history of challenging behaviour, however, the successful candidate should be prepared to react appropriately to difficult situations.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate for this role would be a teaching assistant looking to expand their experience within a SEN environment. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to show their passion for SEND children and provide genuine help that can positively impact this child’s needs. Working within SEND can bring challenging and difficult situations, therefore previous experience is required.

What’s in it for you?

  • A unique opportunity to work one to one
  • A school that believes in happy staff and has excellent training opportunities
  • An easily accessible school with good transport links
  • A great SLT
  • PAYE payments
  • The chance of a permanent contract

Why work for Parker Smith?

  • We are specialists in what we do
  • We have a passion for working honestly and with integrity
  • Our ‘people before profit’ ethos means we put our candidate’s needs first
  • PAYE
  • A genuine passion to help people reach their potential in their SEND career
