SEN Teaching Assistant  - West London

I am working with an excellent special needs school in Hounslow who are seeking passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start long term to permanent roles this coming September!

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to gain practical and clinical experience working with either primary or secondary aged students both 1:1 and in group settings?

What you can expect as an SEN Teaching Assistant 

  • Your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant  will be to support students with special educational needs however the role will vary from day to day, you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations

  • For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path

  • Continued Professional Development as a SEN Teaching Assistant  – This school has 5x more CPD than their surrounding schools

  • You will have an opportunity as a SEN Teaching Assistant to make a huge social impact as a specialist Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant.

  • A long-term contract with an opportunity to transition into a permanent contract

  • Teacher training opportunities. – There are multiple routes into teaching that the school offers ranging from 1 – 5 year courses

  • To work in a highly reputable large special needs school as a SEN Teaching Assistant 

SEN Teaching Assistant requirements

  • Educated to degree level 

  • Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development

  • Ideally previous experience (formal or informal) supporting children with autism or other special educational needs

  • A proactive and positive individual who is always striving to meet children's learning needs.

  • Ability to build rapport with children
