Brief overview:
- Teacher of the Deaf (ToD) with QTS
- Location: North East London
- LA based but travelling to schools in the Borough to advise on HI and SEND
- Role to start immediately or as soon as possible
- Must be a qualified teacher and experienced Teacher of the Deaf
- Ability to work as part of an inclusive MSI team to deliver advisory services to schools in the borough
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and plan your timetable to meet the needs of the schools you support
About the role of Teacher of the Deaf (ToD):
This is a wonderful opportunity to use your skills and experience in HI within a SEND Advisory Service for Hearing Impairment. The MSI (Multi-Sensory Impairment) Team at this local authority is fully inclusive and welcomes staff with MSI to apply to work in their SEND Local Offer. You will have the opportunity to work in a team dedicated to SEND and use your own passion and knowledge to empower educators across the borough in supporting deaf children’s education.
Requirements for Teacher of the Deaf (ToD):
For this Teacher of the Deaf (ToD) opportunity, you will need to hold QTS and have relevant experience as a Teacher of the Deaf. You will need solid experience to include working with children with HI and either hold a Diploma or further qualification in teaching deaf children or be in the process of gaining this. This role requires an passionate teacher who can manage their own caseload and schedule their time accordingly with their schools. You will be required to travel to multiple school sites so use of your own mode of transport is beneficial, willingness to travel across the borough frequently is essential.
