Role: Specialist Occupational Therapist
Location: Redbridge
Hours: Full or part-time available
Salary: £38,000-£45,000 per annum

Do you have experience working with students with very complex needs, such as PMLD/SLD and Autism?
I am working with a brilliant Trust in the London Borough of Redbridge who are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to work across three highly specialist school sites with students with a range of SEN including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and complex medical needs.
Responsibilities of the Specialist Occupational Therapist
- Assessment and intervention of services and provide recommendation of special equipment when required
- Formulate treatment plans, evaluate outcomes and prescribe equipment
- Administer specialist standardised and structured assessments, interpret results and contribute to accurate diagnosis and prognosis
- Use a range of communication strategies to overcome barriers to communication
- Attend and organise meetings necessary to coordinate multi-agency care e.g. transition planning and child protection
Requirements of the Specialist Occupational Therapist
- Completion of RCOT accredited BSc, MSc or PGDIP qualification degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Member of Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working autonomously as a clinician with children
- Experience managing a caseload independently and supervising students/junior staff
- Experience using standardised and structured assessments and implementing specialist OT treatment approaches
- Excellent communication, planning, flexibility and understanding of needs
