About the Role
Behaviour Teaching Assistant - SEMH
- Long-Term to Permanent
- £90 to £100 PAYE Per Day
- Term time only
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
- A specialist school for children with Autism, ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
- ASAP start
One of our SEN schools is looking to appoint a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join them on a full-time long-term contract basis starting ASAP. This is a term-time-only position, and the school hours are 8:30am until 4:30pm.
Primary students thrive in their purpose-built classroom hub and enjoy exploring our outdoor adventure playground. Additionally, they delight in weekly music lessons and have access to a comprehensive therapy service. For the secondary students, they provide a rich curriculum covering core subjects alongside exciting vocational courses. From barbering and construction to horticulture, hospitality, and motor vehicle studies, there are ample opportunities for growth and exploration.
About the needs
- All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and have been diagnosed with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
- Some children may have Autism, ADHD, and other associated needs
- Often have difficulties managing their emotions
- Can feel anxious, frustrated, angry, and scared
- May have verbal and/or physical aggression
About the school
- Wandsworth, South West London
- Provides individualised curriculum to students who have been diagnosed with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
- Some students have Autism/ASC and other learning disabilities
- Provides a therapeutic and nurturing learning environment
- Works very closely with local communities, including a local farm
About Behaviour Teaching Assistant
We don't need any qualifications for you to be able to work in this school. You will be positive and not afraid of any challenges. You will understand children's backgrounds and be able to build trusting relationships. You will manage behaviour in positive ways and will support children to learn. You are well-organised and have clear communication skills. You may have personal interests or experience supporting children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and challenging homes.
