Learning Support Assistant
Barking and DagenhamNorth East London£90 PAYE
Learning Support Assistant
Location: Barking and Dagenham
Pay: £90 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full time | Temp to perm
Do you laugh easily, listen deeply, and show up with kindness – even on the tough days?
Because this school isn’t looking for someone who just ticks boxes. They’re looking for someone with heart, humour and a steady presence. Someone who can connect with a child, even when the words aren’t there. Someone who doesn’t mind singing badly during phonics, celebrating wildly when a goal is achieved, or sitting quietly next to a child who just needs space.
You don’t need to be perfect, but you do need to be real. This is a role where being yourself is your superpower.
What makes this school different?
This is a vibrant, inclusive primary school with a clear purpose: to ensure every child, regardless of need, is seen, supported and celebrated.
With a specialist provision on-site and a leadership team that genuinely values support staff, this is the kind of setting where people stay, grow, and thrive.
Here’s what you can expect:
Classrooms that are bright, calm and well-resourced
A purpose-built sensory space where children can regulate in their own way
A warm, welcoming team who genuinely look out for each other
A SENCO who takes the time to know every child — and every adult supporting them
What will you actually be doing?
Your focus will be on supporting one pupil throughout the day — building a relationship based on consistency, trust and understanding.
You’ll be:
Supporting communication and learning through tailored resources and visuals
Helping the pupil feel safe, calm and ready to engage with their learning
Adapting classroom tasks so they can participate meaningfully
Working alongside the SENCO and class teacher to meet EHCP targets
Creating an environment that feels predictable, positive and nurturing
Celebrating every win, big or small — because they all matter
You’ll thrive here if:
You know how to stay calm when things don’t go to plan
You can find humour in the messier moments of the day
You believe that behaviour is communication and respond with empathy
You bring a positive energy and aren’t afraid to be a bit silly when it helps
You’re ready to be part of a team that genuinely supports each other
You don’t just want a job — you want to show up and make a difference
Why partner with Parker Smith Inclusion?
We’re not your typical agency. We work exclusively in SEND and pride ourselves on matching great people with great schools — places where they can be themselves, do meaningful work, and feel genuinely appreciated.
Here’s what you can expect:
Full PAYE (no umbrella deductions or confusing contracts)
Insightful school matching based on culture and values, not just your CV
Honest conversations, detailed prep and ongoing support
Opportunities to explore long-term SEND careers if that’s where you’re heading
If this sounds like a role where you’d feel at home, I’d love to hear from you.
Reach out to Elisha at elisha@psinclusion.co.uk or send over your CV when you're ready.
Sometimes the most impactful roles aren’t about having all the answers, they’re about showing up with the right heart.

Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
HaveringNorth East London£85 - £100 daily PAYE
Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
East London
£85–£100 per day PAYE
Full-time | Temp to Perm opportunity
“Imagine helping a young person with complex needs experience their first taste of independence — and knowing you were part of that.”
This isn’t just about education — it’s about life preparation. We’re working with a forward-thinking specialist school in East London that supports young people aged 16–19 with a wide range of complex needs. Many of these students are neuro divergent, non-verbal, or require physical support — but they’re also musicians, artists, gamers, comedians, and thinkers.
Here, learning might mean:
Practising travel training to gain confidence on public transport.
Preparing a meal with support.
Managing sensory overload in a busy space.
Learning to self-advocate, however that communication happens.
Your role as a Post-16 Teaching Assistant is to support these young people emotionally, practically, and socially as they begin to explore adult life. You’ll work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to ensure that each student’s experience is purposeful, empowering, and person-centred.
Your day-to-day might include:
Supporting a small group of learners with personalised timetables.
Assisting with life skills sessions — from cooking to money handling.
Using tools like AAC, Makaton, or communication grids.
Providing personal care (feeding, toileting, hoisting — training given).
Helping students manage behaviours related to anxiety, trauma, or communication frustration.
This role would suit someone who:
Has experience in SEN, care work, or youth support — or a strong motivation to enter this field.
Is patient, grounded, and emotionally intelligent — especially during challenging moments.
Understands that “progress” can look like saying yes, staying calm, or just showing up.
Wants to make a genuine difference to someone’s path into adulthood.
This is the kind of role that asks for your full attention — but gives back in moments you’ll remember long after the day ends.
