About the Role
Maths HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Newham - PRU - Long term to permanent - September 2025
Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people who cannot access mainstream education and mental health disorders?
I am looking to speak to professional and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work in a SEMH setting in the East London area The role is working within the secondary department supporting behaviour and learning in class settings. There is no lesson planning required as the Teachers in place are very passionate about the subject and are more than happy to support you.
The right candidate doesn't need to have a large science background, it is preferred but enthusiasm for the subject, compassion & understanding for the students is what we are looking for.
HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant requirements:
● Experience of working with young people with SEMH, Autism, behavioural issues, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
● Ability to plan and deliver Maths
● HLTA or Tutor experience - leading small groups -
● Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
● A passion for working with young people with SEND
