1:1 High Functioning Autism Teaching Assistant
Surrey
Pay Range: £90 - £110 per day
School Hours - Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
Immediate Start
I am working with a lovely Mainstream school who are looking for a Teaching assistant to work 1:1 with an intelligent 6-year-old boy who as a diagnosis of Autism. The school are keen to take someone on immediately so that you have the opportunity to get to know this lovely young man ahead of the September start! There will also be an opportunity to support him during the school holidays to really strengthen the relationship. The school is a vibrant, inclusive learning community and a wonderful place to work and learn. At its heart is the vision to prepare children for lifelong learning. We are looking for nurturing, intelligent, and vibrant individuals who are skilled in supporting children with additional needs. You will also be given the opportunity to be trained in a social thinking programme called E.L.S.A to develop your career. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Provide support and assistance to young boy with high functioning Autism
- Build a strong relationship with him
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement individualised support plans
- Assist in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
- Undertake additional training such as E.L.S.A
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with Autism
- Enhanced DBS
- Ability to build rapport with students and establish positive relationships
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with diverse needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
