About this Assistant Headteacher Role:
An incredible opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Head Teacher to join a specialised school based in Croydon. The school provides tailored education and support to young people aged 11-16 who face Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties and have an EHCP in place. As an Assistant Head Teacher, you will play an integral role in supporting the Head Teacher in managing and leading the school and providing exceptional education and care to all students. This highly rewarding role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who need it most. Responsibilities as an Assistant Headteacher:

  • Inspire and lead a team of dedicated teachers, inspiring a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with the Headteacher and other key staff to help shape the direction of the school and ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers to deliver outstanding and tailored education experiences to students with SEMH and Autism
  • Drive professional development initiatives, offering mentorship and resources to help teachers excel in their roles
  • Ensure an inclusive learning environment that caters to the unique needs of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and additional needs
  • To guide in developing and managing the teaching and learning of key student groups
  • To perform teaching duties and other assigned tasks as directed by the Headteacher
  • Support with the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
