Specialist SEN School, which caters to children and young people aged 2 - 19 who have been diagnosed with Autism, complex needs, high sensory needs, and dysregulated behavior; some children may have mobility issues and medical needs

We are working with a beautiful SEN school based in Brent, North West London.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated and positive individual to join the school as an Autism Teaching Assistant, supporting across a variety of year groups and abilities.

This position is perfect for someone who is an aspiring Education Psychologist, Child Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Physio Therapist, and many more!

What are you expected to do?

  • Supporting pupils in small classroom settings

  • Participating and engaging in school trips and other extra-curricular activities

  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities, as well as monitoring and assessing children’s achievement and progress

  • Working closely with the school's multi-disciplinary team and parents/ family members/ carers

  • Actively getting involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social, and emotional well-being of the pupils

  • Actively interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities

  • Supporting children in hydro-pool

Requirements for Autism Teaching Assistant

  • Anyone passionate about SEN

  • Anyone with personal interests in supporting children and young people with Autism and learning disabilities

  • A positive, proactive, and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn

  • A team player and has great communication skills

  • Being able to build good working relationships with students and staff
