Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behaviour Mentors to join our team. The successful candidate will work with primary and secondary students who display behavioural challenges, mental health issues, autism, social anxieties, and additional needs. You will play a crucial role in supporting our students' academic and personal development, ensuring they receive the tailored guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group mentoring sessions to support students' emotional and behavioural needs.
- Develop and implement individualized behaviour support plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create a cohesive support network for each student.
- Foster a safe and positive learning environment that promotes respect, understanding, and mutual support.
- Monitor and track students' progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions to address specific behavioural and social challenges.
- Support classroom teachers in managing and understanding student behaviour.
- Encourage and facilitate students' engagement in school activities and learning.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working with children in an SEMH setting, preferably within primary or secondary education.
- Strong understanding of behavioural challenges, mental health issues, autism, social anxieties, and additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trusting and supportive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Resilience, patience, and a calm demeanor in challenging situations.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field are desirable.
