Communication Support Worker - Central London - September 2021
Are you passionate about supporting deaf children with their learning and communication needs?
Are you BSL level 3 qualified with a competent level of fluency?
Are you keen to further your BSL communication skills in a dedicated provision for deaf children?
I am actively seeking an engaging Communication Support Worker with BSL Level 3 for a specialist deaf provision in a school in Central London. The specialist provision are seeking a 1:1 CSW to support a pupil who will be in Year 10.The role will be to support the student in core subject lessons and offer general support across the school.
About the specialist provision for deaf students
The specialist deaf provision is based in a secondary school in Central London and caters for up to 8 students.
The provision is well equipped with resources, technology and has a wide range of materials.
The students are fully integrated into the mainstream classes and the provision is very much focused and dedicated to inclusion
What you can expect as a CSW – BSL specialist
- Experience of working in a specialist school for the D/deaf
- To be part of a fantastic deaf support team who run a variety of deaf awareness events including BSL recognition week and many more
- Being part of wider school community with a commitment to signing
- Excellent experience and training for aspiring Teachers and of the deaf, SEN Teachers and Speech and language Therapists
CSW BSL Specialist TA/LSA requirements:
- BSL Level 3 (Signature or iBSL accredited qualification).
- Good level of fluency
- Passionate about inclusion
Although experience supporting children specialist deaf schools/provisions/ is certainly beneficial I would also love to hear from individuals who hold BSL level 3 and are looking to take their first step into education settings so please get in touch!
