I am working with a fully comprehensive and inclusive secondary school in the London Borough of Waltham Forest who are seeking a skilled Deputy SENDCO to join their ambitious team. The school has a strong and distinctive ethos of kindness, strength in diversity, respect, excellence and pride in achievement. As a Deputy SENDCO, you will be a crucial part of the Inclusion Team, and will have the opportunity to lead the set up and teach within the new SEND provision.
What is expected of Deputy SENDCO?
· Managing the daily running of the new SEND Hub
· Designing a curriculum for the Hub which adapts to the needs of the students
· The Deputy SENDCO will deliver KS3/KS4 lessons within the Hub
· Overseeing two support staff members
· Supporting with SEND strategies and IEP’s
· Supporting with assessment of incoming students and organisation of annual reviews
· Deputy SENDCO will liase with the local authority to ensure appropriate support is in place
The successful Deputy SENDCO
· Will hold, or be willing to gain as soon as possible, the NASENCO qualification
· Deputy SENDCO must be willing to make a positive contribution to the schools’ ethos
· Has the ability to deliver excellent student outcomes
· The successful Deputy SENDCO will be committed to personal and professional development
· Has experience teaching a full age and ability range
