Graduate Teaching Assistant - ASAP start - Long term to permanent - £80-100 per day PAYE 

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with additional learning needs and mental health disorders?

Are you keen to make a difference in the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH?

I am working with a Croydon-based specialist at SEMH therapeutic school who are looking for engaging and passionate Graduate Teaching Assistants. The children attending this school will have an SEN diagnosis, EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) usually with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). I am looking to speak to a new graduate Teaching Assistant even if your experience is informal/voluntary, we want to hear from you!

Teaching Assistant requirements

  • Essential - Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
  • Beneficial - Experience of working with SEMH, trauma, sensory processing, social communication, ACE (adverse childhood experiences), toxic stress
  • Beneficial - Youth Mentor/Worker experience
  • Essential - Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships

What you can expect as a Teaching Assistant 

  • Teaching Assistant roles will vary from day to day, you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations
  • For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Play/Art/Music Therapists, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path
  • Continued Professional Development - SEND schools and APs are continually training their staff to help them support their children's needs, you will become an expert in your field
  • You will have an opportunity to make a huge social impact, as a Behaviour Mentor you could change the path of someone’s life!

Pay

  • We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason, we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve the employer's NI deductions or admin fees.
  • Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised at daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only depending on the role and your experience.
