I am interested in speaking to qualified English Teachers in Essex who have a passion for working with vulnerable children with highly complex SEMH needs/disorders and ASD. This is a permanent position to start January 2022,

This role will allow the successful applicant to gain valuable experience within the Special Needs Sector, in order to progress their career to the next level.

Teachers from mainstream backgrounds looking to transition to SEND settings, specifically SEMH, are encouraged to apply!

All learners have an Education Health & Care Plan and are classed as ‘Social, Emotional & Mental Health’ (‘SEMH’) as their main category of need. In addition, they may have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Social Communication Difficulties, complex emotional and/or behavioural difficulties.
Brief overview:

  • SEMH English Lead Teacher
  • TPCD Main or Upper Pay Scale + TLR2 + SEN1
  • Location: Essex
  • SEMH school for children with a diagnosis of SEMH
  • Role to start January 2021
  • Ability to engage children with SEND is essential

Requirements for Head of English Teacher:

To work the Head Of English, you will require QTS or QTLS and have relevant experience as a Teacher in the UK. Solid experience working with highly vulnerable children, pupils at risk of exploitation, gang-related issues, violent and aggressive behaviour, substance misuse, school phobic, highly disengaged pupils, attachment and anxiety disorders is beneficial but we want to hear from ALL teachers. If you are interested in a teaching approach that is holistic and therapeutic but don’t necessarily have this experience yet, please still enquire.
