Home Learning Tutor
£23.50 to £32.50 per hour
We are looking for a Home Learning Tutor to teach and deliver an assortment of first-rate activities and lessons to pupils who require an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), are high risk and/or have complex needs. It is a 1:1 role through either distance learning, in the pupils’ homes or community spaces, with the purpose of helping ease these students back into a group setting for learning. With this role you will receive regular debriefs, keep hold of data records and the pupils progress academically.
As a Home Learning Tutor, you will be responsible for carrying out risk assessment forms, ensuring the safety and well-being of the pupils you tutor in a manner of abiding by the policies and procedures of the company as well as being a positive representative the company.
The company is a group of independent schools specialising in SEND, where they believe every child and young person that is Neurodiverse receives a high standard of Inclusive education.
Education
- GCSE or equivalent
- A good knowledge of Literacy and Numeracy.
- Relevant degree qualification such as Psychology, Social Work/Youth Work or a QTS/QTLS is desirable but not necessary.
Skills
- Good understanding of working with Children
- Understanding of IT and its importance
- Organisational skills
- Ability to write reports that are full and accurate
- Great communicational and observational skills with children to understand their needs and ability.
- Ability to engage in relevant activities with children
- Can be respectful as well as maintain confidentiality
- Can respect professional and personal boundaries
Knowledge
- Experience with working with children who have SEND, Primarily SEMH and/or ASC
- 2 Years’ experience is required
- Knowledge of National Curriculum
- Experience of working with children who are high risk and have complex needs
