Lead Behaviour Mentor – North London - Immediate

Are you keen to make a difference to the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH?

 

I am working with an North London PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) who are looking for an engaging and passionate Lead Behaviour Mentor to work across the school. The children attending this school will be either temporarily or permanently excluded due to challenging and disruptive behaviour, they may or may not have a SEN diagnosis, EHCP (Education Health Care Plan). I am looking to speak to professional and committed Behaviour Mentors, even if your experience is informal/voluntary, we want to hear from you!

 

Lead Behaviour Mentor requirements

  • Essential - Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
  • Beneficial - Experience of working with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties, or experience with SEMH, trauma, sensory processing, social communication
  • Beneficial - Youth Mentor/Worker experience
  • Essential - Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
  • Essential - Ability to work autonomously

 

What you can expect as a Lead Behaviour Mentor

  • Behaviour Mentor roles will vary from day to day, you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations
  • For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path
  • Continued Professional Development - SEND schools and APs are continually training their staff to help them support their children's needs, you will become an expert in your field

Pay

  • We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees.
  • Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only and rates will vary from £72 - £102 per day, depending on the Lead Behaviour Mentor role and your experience. Full Time Equivalent salaries are therefore £18,792 - £26,622 Per Annum, please bear in mind that all school based work will be term time only.
