Have you worked with Autism and Complex Needs?

Do you have a bubbly personality and a passion for supporting young people?

I am working with an exceptional specialist school in Hilingdon who are seeking Learning Support Assistants to join their passionate and hard-working team. The school caters for students between 3 -11 years who are unable to access mainstream education due to a diagnosis of ASD and associated complex needs.

The students love coming to school and it was a heart-warming experience, seeing how the staff interact and make learning a fun experience. You will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team; from Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, SEN and Behaviour Specialists. Personality is a very important aspect of this role, you will need to have a hardworking mindset and willingness to learn and undertake any additional training required.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant

· Has experience working with autism, SLCN, non-verbal students and associated complex needs

· SEN Teaching Assistant can support with medication administration, PEG feeding, gastronomy care, and other forms of personal care

· Knowledge of PECS/Makaton

· Can manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner – intervention/restraint training is beneficial

· Can build and maintain relationships with staff and students

· Will go above and beyond to change the lives of young people
