Literacy Intervention Tutor – SE London

Do you have experience supporting children with special educational needs?

Do you have experience working with pupils who have an EHCP that require 1:1 learning support?

Can you tutor English up to GCSE or English Functional Skills to disengaged students in a school for SEMH?

Are you keen to make a difference to the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH?

I am seeking a passionate and engaging Literacy Intervention Tutor who wants to provide meaningful and essential support to vulnerable children who require it most!

This is a Literacy Intervention Tutor role teaching students with significant, complex behaviour challenges and ASC. Home schooling will have been incredibly tough without dedicated 1:1 support and they really need you now more than ever!

 

Literacy Intervention Tutor Requirements

  • Experience of working with children/young people with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties, speech and communication difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, mental health issues
  • Learning Support / Teaching Assistant / Literacy Intervention Tutor experience
  • Ability to be nurturing and caring
  • Proactive, flexible and willing approach
  • Ability to build rapport with disengaged students
  • Patience and understanding of the difficulties surrounding children’s return to school

 

What you can expect as a Literacy Intervention Tutor

  • Excellent experience and training for aspiring Teachers, Pastoral workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, and Social Workers
  • This is an autonomous role in which you will be in charge of planning your own timetable and working with students and teachers to provide Literacy intervention
  • The opportunity to make a change a child/young person’s life and impact their learning and ongoing personal development
