Maths Teaching Assistant – Croydon

Do you have experience in youth work, or as a Maths tutor and now looking for your next big challenge?

Are you strong in Mathematics and have an interest in assisting children who are hard to reach?

 

We are recruiting for a Maths Teaching Assistant in Croydon for a September 2021 start!

This is a SEMH secondary school based in Croydon – The ideal candidate will be resilient, passionate, and engaging and have the ability to build rapport with vulnerable children. If you are looking to join a school with a therapeutic approach, this is the role for you! They offer a number of therapies such as outdoor, horticulture, and animal, plus it is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a restorative environment. The school successfully practices restoration which recognises that every student, when their conditions are met, have the capability to grow and develop to what is ultimately their full potential.

 

Requirements for Maths Teaching Assistant:

  • Confident knowledge of mathematics/functional skills.
  • Previous experience with young people is essential, preferably within a secondary setting.
  • It is vital that you have experience working with children/young people with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties, speech and communication difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, mental health issues.
  • You must possess the ability to be nurturing and caring and the ideal candidate will also be proactive and flexible.
  • Must be able to build rapport with disengaged students.
