Mental Health / Nurture Teacher - Immediate Start or September 2024

Do you have experience with disengaged young people with mental health challenges?

SEMH Education Setting

We are looking for Specialist Teachers to work within a SEMH school setting alongside the most vulnerable students, providing them with necessary academic and emotional support.

The school educates children and young people who cannot access any other formal educational settings for many reasons – these are the most vulnerable, at risk and hard to reach in our community. Understanding their SEMH needs must be met before any academic development can happen. Understanding their SEMH needs is essential in these roles, and we seek individuals who can positively impact them.

What We Are Looking for

  • Therapeutic teaching approach
  • Experience in teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
  • Positive role model to support communication with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
  • Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
  • Experience of working with disengaged teenagers is essential.
